Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite

It's that time of year folks! Summer time, kids are out of school, they're hanging out at home... eating everything in sight! Sometimes the eating doesn't always happen at the dinner table. Right? As we all know the tinniest of crumbs can attract unwelcome visitors. We always try to get someone out to do our perimeters. Because, I hate bugs!!

Sometimes even the cleanest of homes succumb to these certain bugs... Bed Bugs! Thought it was just something parents say to the kids as the say goodnight? Nope! Bed bugs are flat, reddish-brown, oval insects about 3/16-inch long or the size of an apple seed! They hide in your mattress and feed on your blood. Yuck! Who wants that?

Another reason I want to mention this is it's also travel season for many. We'll be taking to hotel rooms to enjoy the amenities, but these are notorious breeding grounds for Bed Bugs. They'll hop into your luggage and come home with you, then you'll have an infestation! Not only are they in mattresses, they can hid in baseboards, picture frames even your sheets!

Females lay any where from one to five eggs in a day, and 200 to 500 eggs in a lifetime! With normal room temps and food (aka your blood), bed bugs can live over 300 days! The bites are itchy and could cause an allergic reaction.

Like I said we get someone out every year. Being out in the desert we have a lot of creepie crawlies. Luckily, Orkin handles all your pest needs with the best trained professionals! One click and your worries are gone. They can handle "taking care" of those pests in a way that best suits your family, pets and environment.

We got ours staying from a hotel in new york city. The manager told us about bed bug bully If it does not kill bed bugs, then we will be looking at doing an extermination.

I heard an exterminator may not be able to give you a guarantee. Is this true?

You have inspired me, Chickenista. With summer comes my own personal battle with bugs. From what I've heard, the bugs aren't as bad in California as in some other states, but I'm still in combat mode. As for hotel rooms, whatever you do, don't shine one of those black lights on the bed...'cause then you'll see all kinds of interesting remnants. Cheers!
